A leading international tobacco company commissioned Nexus JO to conduct a quantitative sensory test supporting the development and refinement of a high-demand shisha flavour for the Jordanian market. The study was designed to capture structured feedback from 600 eligible adult consumers and provide reliable evidence for product development and flavour-selection decisions. From preparation and team coordination to participant flow and on-site quality control, Nexus JO completed the full sample on schedule while maintaining consistency across every testing session.
The primary challenge was completing the full sample of 600 adult consumers within only three days. The project required precise scheduling, rapid participant flow, close field-team coordination and continuous supervision. Speed could not come at the expense of consistency, as every participant needed to experience the products under the same controlled testing conditions
Every product sample was precisely weighed and prepared according to the agreed protocol. Samples were identified using confidential codes, while each participant followed a predefined rotation to ensure that products were presented in a balanced order. Between samples, participants used neutralising biscuits and water to reset their palate and minimise sensory carryover before evaluating the next product.
