Quantitative Research & User Experience | Dubai, UAE | 650 Indian Visitors | One Week

The Client Objective The study aimed to understand how Indian visitors use their India-based banking applications while travelling in Dubai and to explore their experiences, challenges, and expectations when accessing banking services outside their home country. A Two-Part Research Approach The project combined two complementary research components: 1. Intercept Survey A structured survey was conducted with 650 Indian visitors who had used an Indian banking application during their stay in Dubai. 2. User Experience Interviews Short street-based interviews explored participants’ real experiences with their banking applications, including usability, access, transactions, and challenges encountered while abroad. Reaching the Right Participants Fieldwork was conducted across multiple locations in Dubai to identify eligible Indian visitors in relevant, real-world settings. Every participant was carefully screened to confirm that they: Were visiting Dubai from India Used an India-based banking application Had accessed the application during their visit to Dubai The Main Challenges Engaging Time-Constrained Visitors Tourists often had busy schedules and limited time. The questionnaire required meaningful detail, making participant engagement and efficient interviewing essential. Our field teams managed the interview flow carefully, communicating the study’s value clearly while respecting each visitor’s time. Handling Sensitive Financial Information The user experience interviews sometimes involved sensitive personal and banking-related experiences. Conducting these discussions in public locations required privacy-conscious interviewing, careful participant communication, and strict attention to research ethics. No passwords, account credentials, or unnecessary personally identifiable information were required. Fieldwork Across Dubai The study was implemented at multiple locations across Dubai, enabling the team to reach a diverse range of eligible Indian visitors. Continuous field coordination helped monitor: Participant eligibility Interview progress Data completeness Fieldwork quality Daily sample achievement
